Wild Mountain Kesh
Tale of an Emerging celtic rock band
Emerging from the unexpected confines of a Longmont, Colorado storage unit during the depths of the 2020 pandemic, Wild Mountain Kesh forged their musical journey with an unyielding pursuit of fun and a shared passion for Celtic melodies. What began as an exploration of traditional tunes soon transformed into a bold fusion of Celtic roots and electrifying rock energy.
Soon the humble traditional band was using a blend of blistering guitar riffs, driving rhythms, and the soul-stirring allure of Celtic instrumentation. The transition makes everything sound new and exciting. It fueled their creativity and still drives them to this day.
But beyond the music, Wild Mountain Kesh is a celebration of camaraderie and connection. They cherish each moment spent crafting melodies, forging memories, and taking the stage by storm. For them, it's not just about the music—it's about the shared experience of joy, laughter, and the undeniable magic that happens when passionate people get together to create music.
Join Wild Mountain Kesh on their journey to keep pushing the expectations of Celtic music and bring the genre to new and old audiences of the music.
Meet the Band
Geoff Nicosia
Bagpipes, Irish Bouzouki, Electric Guitar, Whistles, Bodhran
Geoff is the multi-instrumental madman behind Wild Mountain Kesh, known for wielding bagpipes, Irish bouzouki, electric guitar, whistles, and the bodhrán—sometimes all in one set (we dare you to stop dancing).
Originally hailing from Colorado and now calling Pennsylvania home, Geoff has a serious love for Celtic music and a knack for turning traditional sounds into foot-stomping, heart-pounding rock. He’s the kind of musician who’s happiest when the crowd is dancing, the beer’s flowing, and the tunes are rolling.
Whether he’s ripping a bagpipe solo or laying down a soulful bodhrán beat, Geoff’s all about connecting with people and keeping the party going. He’s here to bring the party and drink all of your beer!
Michael (Tiny) Hermes
Vocalist
Michael was born in the scenic Poconos and raised under the sunny skies of South Florida. An accomplished vocalist and songwriter, he spent his younger years captivating audiences at iconic venues, such as Carnegie Hall and Walt Disney World.
Today, Michael balances life as a devoted husband, father and chef, all while embracing a deep passion for his Celtic heritage with family roots tracing back to Abbey, in County Galway and Newport, in County Mayo, Ireland. His music is infused with the rich traditions of the Emerald Isle.
Andy Mowrer
LEad Guitar, Backing vocals
Hailing from Bethlehem PA with Scottish and Irish ancestry, Andy is a versatile musician with over 35 years’ experience performing up and down the east coast. Adept on multiple instruments including guitar, mandolin, bass, banjo and styles ranging from folk, rock, blues, reggae to celtic and everything in between.
Paul McEwan
Bass, Backing Vocals
Paul is a native of Glasgow, and grew up in Scotland and then in immigrant-rich Toronto before moving to the US, and he brings the sounds of all of the places he has lived to his music. He has been playing guitar and bass most of his life, and in recent years has added mandolin and bouzouki.
He has gigged with a variety of Lehigh Valley bands and musicians, is the bassist for Audio Horizon, and has also made regular appearances at Darkey Kelley’s in Dublin’s Temple Bar when working overseas. His ideal gig is one where people are on their feet and singing along, and there is as little divide between performers and audience as possible.
He loves playing in Wild Mountain Kesh because his regular life doesn’t give him enough chances to wear his kilt. He’ll let you hear his Scottish accent if you either ask nicely or buy him a whisky.
Trevor Bartholomew
Drummer
Hailing from Hellertown PA with ties to German, Pennsylvania Dutch, and Irish ancestry. Trevor has more than 25 years’ experience playing percussion from marching band to set and orchestra. Trevor plays rock, punk, metal, blues, Celtic and anything else that he can get his hands on! He keeps rocking down the house with beats you can always dance to.
Trevor has played in a variety of bands, covering almost every genre of music and has been inspired by many bands and their drummers. He continues to rock the house and manage a job, a wife and family.
